2021 Tesla Model Y Standard Range

The Model Y is Tesla's compact electric SUV, slotting between the Model 3 sedan and the larger Model X in size and price. It competes with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Volkswagen ID.4, and Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the growing electric crossover segment. The low center of gravity from the battery pack gives the Model Y responsive, car-like handling that belies its crossover shape. The cabin is minimalist and airy, with a large central touchscreen controlling nearly every function and a spacious rear seat. Rear-wheel drive and a 244 miles of range set the Standard Range apart as the most affordable entry point to the Model Y lineup, below the Long Range and Performance trims. The single electric motor drives the rear wheels through a continuously variable automatic (CVT), giving it a lighter feel up front than the AWD versions.
