Miles Overview
This is the car that put Tesla on the map, a large electric hatchback that redefined what an EV could be. The instant response from the electric motor makes it feel eager off the line, and the low center of gravity keeps it planted through corners. The cabin is minimalist and airy, with a huge touchscreen that controls most functions, and the hatchback body offers generous cargo space. The big central touchscreen was years ahead of its time, handling navigation, media, and vehicle settings all in one place. The 265 miles of range from the electric motor means you can do most road trips with one stop, and the CVT keeps power delivery seamless. Tesla offered a dual-motor all-wheel-drive upgrade on later cars, but this 2012 Performance is rear-drive only, which makes it lighter and more playful.
