The Model 3 is Tesla's compact electric sedan, slotting below the Model S and competing directly with the BMW i4, Polestar 2, and Hyundai Ioniq 6. Instant torque and a low center of gravity give the Model 3 a planted, eager feel that makes it genuinely fun on a back road. The cabin is minimalist with a single 15-inch touchscreen controlling nearly everything, and the front seats are comfortable for long trips. Over-the-air updates bring new features and improvements, and the standard Autopilot includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance. Single-motor rear-wheel drive distinguishes the base RWD from the dual-motor Long Range and Performance trims above it. Its electric motor delivers instant torque and a 5.8-second 0–60 mph sprint, with 272 miles of range from the LFP battery pack. The RWD uses a lithium iron phosphate battery that can be charged to 100% daily without degradation concerns.
