Miles Overview
The Sorento is Kia's three-row midsize SUV, a family hauler that's a common pick alongside the Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot. It drives with a composed, car-like feel that's easy to live with, though the base engine can feel a bit sluggish when you need quick acceleration. The cabin is a real highlight for the price, with upscale materials and a big touchscreen that owners love for its seamless Bluetooth and crisp navigation. Reliability is generally solid, but a few owners have hit AC and sunroof glitches that were fixed under warranty. The LX is the base Sorento, so you skip the EX's V6 power and third-row seating, but you still get a well-equipped crossover for thousands less. Its 2.4L I4 makes 185 horsepower and works with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which is enough for daily driving but feels a little strained on steep highway grades. Fuel economy is a solid 23 mpg combined, and the LX's lighter weight helps it feel more nimble than the heavier V6 trims.
