Miles Overview
The 2017 Sorento is a midsize three-row SUV that slots between the compact Sportage and the larger Telluride in Kia's crossover lineup. It competes with the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Ford Explorer, offering a more affordable entry point with a long warranty. The Sorento drives with a composed, car-like feel, though the four-cylinder can hesitate under quick acceleration. Inside, the cabin impresses with upscale materials and a roomy second row, plus available third-row seating for seven. Reliability is generally solid, with some owners reporting air-conditioning and minor interior issues that were often covered under warranty. The LX is the base Sorento, skipping the EX's available third row and V6 upgrade. Its 3.3L I6 makes 290 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, returning 20 mpg combined.
