Miles Overview
The 2016 X3 is BMW's compact SUV, the one you'd cross-shop with the Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC. It's eager and planted, with a suspension that keeps body roll in check on twisty roads. The ride is on the firm side, so you'll feel sharp bumps in the city, but it settles down on the highway. The cabin is well put together with quality materials, and the rear seats fold 60/40 to swallow bulky cargo. The xDrive28d is the diesel version of the X3, swapping the 28i's gasoline engine for better fuel economy and more low-end torque. Its 2.0L I4 makes 180 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, paired with the eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and it returns 30 mpg combined.
