Miles Overview
The 2008 X5 is BMW's mid-size luxury SUV, the one that brought car-like handling to the three-row family hauler. It drives with the poise of a sport sedan, and the all-wheel-drive system gives you confidence in rain or snow. Inside, the cabin feels upscale with quality materials, and you can get a third row for extra passengers. Owners mention that the iDrive system before 2009 takes some getting used to, and window regulators can be a weak point. The 4.8L I8 makes 355 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that gets 16 mpg combined. The adaptive drive system can tighten the suspension and reduce body roll, which makes the 4.8i feel more planted through corners.
