2020 BMW X4 M40i

The X4 is BMW's compact fastback SUV, a sportier take on the X3 with a coupe-like roofline. It handles with the poise of a sedan, feeling agile and planted through corners, though rear visibility is compromised by the sloping roof. Inside, the cabin uses quality materials, and the front seats are comfortable, but rear headroom is tight for taller passengers. Cargo space is below average for the class, and the small opening makes loading bulky items a challenge. The M40i replaces the xDrive30i's four-cylinder with a six-cylinder that makes 355 horsepower and adds an adaptive suspension. That 3.0L I4 and eight-speed automatic combination delivers strong acceleration, and the all-wheel drive keeps it planted in all weather.
