Miles Overview
The Tacoma is Toyota's compact pickup, a truck that's been a favorite for decades because it's tough and holds its value. It's easy to drive for a truck, with a high seating position that gives you a great view of the road ahead. The cabin is practical with plenty of storage spots and cup holders, though it can feel tight with four adults aboard. Some owners mention fading paint on the hood and roof, and the rear suicide doors can be awkward in tight parking spots. The PreRunner gives you the look and ground clearance of the 4WD Tacoma without the weight or cost of the transfer case, so it rides lighter on the road. With the 2.7L I4 making 159 horsepower and a manual transmission sending power to the rear-wheel drive, this Tacoma is relaxed around town but needs a downshift for highway passing.
