Miles Overview
The Tacoma is Toyota's compact pickup, the one that's been the go-to for anyone needing a small truck that can still tow and haul. It rides like a proper truck, with a firm, bouncy feel that's the trade-off for its off-road capability and sturdy build. The cabin is roomy up front, but the rear seat is tight, and the suicide-style rear doors can be awkward in tight parking spots. Owners rave about the Tacoma's dependability, with many reporting trouble-free miles well past 100,000. The Deluxe trim adds four-wheel drive and the 4.0L V6, which the PreRunner doesn't offer, making it the choice for off-road or snowy commutes. With 236 horsepower from the 4.0L V6 and a five-speed automatic, this Tacoma pulls strongly on the highway and manages 17 mpg combined.
