Miles Overview
The 2016 Highlander is Toyota's three-row family SUV, slotting between the compact RAV4 and the larger Sequoia. It competes with the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, and Nissan Pathfinder in the crowded mid-size crossover segment. The Highlander drives smoothly and quietly, with a composed ride that makes long trips easy. Inside, the cabin is roomy and versatile, with a fold-flat third row that expands cargo space when needed. Leather-trimmed seats, a moonroof, and the power liftgate set the XLE apart from the LE and LE Plus trims below it. The 3.5L V6 makes 270 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which is good for 20 mpg combined.
