Miles Overview
The 2015 Highlander is a midsize three-row SUV that seats up to eight and fits between the compact RAV4 and the larger Sequoia in Toyota's lineup. It competes with the Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, and Nissan Pathfinder, offering a roomier cabin than most in its class. The Highlander drives with a composed, car-like feel, though the base engine can feel strained when the cabin is full. Inside, the cabin is spacious and versatile, with a sliding second row and a fold-flat third row that expands cargo space. Owners report strong reliability, with many saying the Highlander has needed nothing beyond routine maintenance. Stepping up to the XLE from the LE Plus adds leather seating, a power liftgate, heated front seats, and a moonroof as standard equipment. The XLE can seat eight with the standard second-row bench, or you can swap in captain's chairs to drop that to seven.
