Miles Overview
The 2005 Tundra is Toyota's full-size pickup, a straightforward workhorse that competes with the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado. It's a truck that feels solid and stable on the road, with a ride that's more car-like than you'd expect from a full-size pickup. The cabin is roomy and comfortable, with plenty of headroom and legroom for tall drivers and passengers. Owners report that the Tundra is remarkably reliable, with major components like ball joints and steering racks lasting well beyond 100,000 miles. The SR5 is the one most buyers pick, since it gives you the V8 without the Limited's leather and chrome. With the 4.7L V8 making 271 horsepower and the five-speed automatic, this four-wheel-drive Tundra pulls hard and feels confident on loose gravel or snow. This SR5 rides on a leaf-spring rear suspension, so expect a stiffer unloaded bed than you'd get in a coil-sprung half-ton.
