Miles Overview
The 2020 Elantra is Hyundai's compact sedan, slotting between the Accent and Sonata and taking on the Corolla, Civic, and Sentra. The Elantra rides smoothly and steers with light effort, making it an easy commuter, though the base engine can feel strained on hills. Inside, the cabin offers generous rear legroom and a large trunk, while the dashboard design is straightforward and functional. Standard tech includes a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available blind spot detection is a helpful addition. The ECO swaps the base 2.0-liter for a smaller 1.4L I4 that's tuned for efficiency, so you give up some horsepower compared to the SE or Sport. Its seven-speed automatic shifts smoothly to keep the 1.4L I4 in its sweet spot, and the payoff is 36 mpg combined on regular fuel.
