Miles Overview
The 2019 Santa Fe is Hyundai's midsize two-row SUV, slotting between the compact Tucson and the larger three-row Palisade. It competes with the Honda Passport, Ford Edge, and Nissan Murano, offering a roomier cabin than the compact crossovers below it. The Santa Fe rides smoothly and stays composed on the highway, though the base engine can feel a bit strained when passing. Inside, the cabin is quiet and well-built, with generous rear legroom and a large cargo area that swallows luggage with ease. Standard forward collision warning and lane keeping assist help the Santa Fe earn strong safety scores across trims. The Ultimate is the top trim for shoppers who want the full suite of tech and comfort features, while the SEL Plus is the value pick with the same engine. This Ultimate pairs a 2.0L I4 with the eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, giving it confident all-weather traction and 21 mpg combined. Only the Ultimate offers ventilated front seats and a hands-free power liftgate, making it feel more premium on daily errands.
