Miles Overview
The Xterra is Nissan's compact SUV, a body-on-frame truck that's more at home on trails than most of its car-based rivals. It steers with a quickness that surprises for a truck this size, and the tall ground clearance lets you take on rough roads with confidence. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and durable, with a roomy cargo area that's part of the main cabin rather than a separate trunk. Watch for a common issue where the gas gauge stops reading correctly, and the dash plastic can develop hairline cracks over time. The XE is the base trim, so you skip the SE's alloy wheels and upgraded audio, but you still get the same rugged body-on-frame chassis and the 3.3L V6.
