Miles Overview
The Element is Honda's boxy, utilitarian SUV, a four-seat hauler that competes more with the Scion xB than with traditional crossovers. It drives more like a truck than a car, with a firm ride and a tall stance, but that's part of its rugged charm. The cabin is a highlight: the rear seats fold flat or swing up against the sides, and the plastic floors wipe clean, so you can haul bikes, furniture, or even a mattress. Owners note a few quirks, like a blind spot from the thick pillars and a rear bumper that can pop loose, but mechanical reliability is generally strong. A sportier suspension and unique 18-inch wheels set the SC apart from the LX and EX, but it's front-wheel drive only. The same 2.4L I4 makes 166 horsepower here, and with the five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive you'll see 22 mpg combined.
