Miles Overview
The H3 is the smallest Hummer, a mid-size SUV that shares its boxy, military-inspired look with the bigger H2 but is easier to live with day to day. It handles snow and mud with confidence, and the wide track keeps it stable, though the ride is on the firm side and it's not quick. The cabin is roomy for people and cargo, and the side-opening rear door makes loading easy, but the interior feels a bit cramped for its size. Owners report some electrical gremlins and suspension wear, so it's worth checking the hubs and CV joints on any used example. The smallest Hummer and the only one with a five-cylinder engine, the Base trim is the entry point to the H3 lineup and the most practical for daily use. Its 3.5L I5 makes 220 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, and the five-speed automatic and four-wheel drive give it genuine off-road ability, though it's slow on the highway.
