Miles Overview
The MDX is Acura's three-row luxury SUV, the one families cross-shop against the Lexus RX and the Volvo XC90. It drives smoothly and feels planted, though the transmission can be a bit hesitant at low speeds around town. The cabin feels upscale with quality materials, but the third row is snug for adults and best left to kids. Reliability is a strong point, with most owners reporting few issues, though the front seats can show wear over time. The Base trim is the one to pick if you want the MDX's space and smooth ride without paying for AWD or the Technology Package's extra gadgets. Its 3.5L V6 makes 290 horsepower and drives the front wheels through a six-speed automatic, which feels responsive on the highway but can be a bit lazy in stop-and-go traffic. You get a simpler suspension tune than the Advance trim's adaptive dampers, so the ride is a touch softer and more comfortable over broken pavement.
