Miles Overview
The 2014 Pilot is Honda's three-row SUV, the one families cross-shop against the Highlander and Pathfinder. It drives with a planted, easygoing feel that suits long highway trips, and the cabin stays quiet at speed. The cabin is full of handy cubbies and cupholders, and the middle row fits three car seats across without a fight. Cargo space is generous with the third row folded, though with all seats up the trunk is tight for luggage. The Touring adds leather upholstery, a navigation system, and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system that the EX-L doesn't have. Its 3.5L V6 makes 250 horsepower and works with a five-speed automatic, which is smooth but has one fewer gear than some rivals offered that year. The Touring's available 4WD adds a locking rear differential for light off-road traction, though the ride stays composed on pavement.
