Miles Overview
The 2017 Odyssey is Honda's family minivan, the one you cross-shop with the Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica when you need to haul eight people. It drives with the composed, car-like feel Honda minivans are known for, so it's easy to hustle down the highway even with a full load of kids and gear. The cabin is where it shines: three rows of seats, a huge cargo well behind the third row, and clever storage like the under-radio compartment that holds a stack of DVDs. Owners love the comfortable ride on long trips, the rear-seat entertainment system that keeps kids busy, and the reliability that makes it a keeper for years. The LX skips the power sliding doors and tri-zone climate control of the EX, but gets you the same 3.5L V6 and all the seating flexibility for thousands less. Its 3.5L V6 pairs with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, delivering smooth, willing acceleration around town and on the highway, with 22 mpg combined. You will not get Honda Sensing or a rear-seat entertainment system in the LX, but the trade-off is the lowest entry price into any seven-passenger minivan.
