Miles Overview
The ES is Lexus's mid-size sedan, the one you cross-shop against the Acura TLX and Genesis G80 when you want a quiet, comfortable luxury car. It's tuned for smooth, effortless cruising rather than sporty thrills, so the steering is light and the ride is pillowy. Inside, the cabin is hushed and trimmed with soft-touch materials, and the front seats are among the most comfortable in the class. A 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard, along with a suite of driver assists. Stepping up to the Ultra Luxury adds semi-aniline leather upholstery, power rear sunshade, and a wood-and-leather steering wheel that the Luxury trim doesn't offer. The 3.5L V6 makes 302 horsepower and works with a eight-speed automatic to deliver effortless highway merging, though it asks for premium fuel and returns 26 mpg combined. The Ultra Luxury's standard adaptive variable suspension lets you soften the ride further than any other ES trim, so it's the one to pick if maximum comfort is your priority.
