Miles Overview
The Z3 is BMW's two-seat roadster, offered as a soft-top convertible or a coupe, and it's the car that brought retro roadster style back to the brand. It's genuinely fun to drive, with sharp handling and a lively rear-drive feel that makes every corner an event. The cabin is snug but nicely trimmed, and the trunk is surprisingly roomy for a roadster, so you can fit groceries for the week. Owners note the soft top can leak around the rear window and the shifter can feel sticky, so check those seals and the gearbox before you buy. The 2.8 is the sweet spot in the Z3 lineup, giving you a torquier engine than the 2.3 without jumping to the harder-edged M Roadster. Its 2.8L I6 makes 190 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed automatic that suits relaxed cruising, and you'll see 19 mpg combined. The 2.8's extra torque makes it more flexible in daily driving than the base car, so you don't have to wind it out to make progress.
