Miles Overview
The Z4 is BMW's two-seat roadster for 2003, a convertible that competes with the Porsche Boxster and Mercedes SLK. It's a driver's car through and through, with sharp steering and a chassis that makes you want to find the twistiest road. Inside, the cabin is snug but well built, with quality materials and a trunk that fits more than you'd expect from a roadster. Owners mention the power roof motor can fail from condensation, so it's worth asking if it's been replaced. The 2.5i is the entry choice for the Z4, trading the 3.0i's extra power for a lower starting price. Its 2.5L I6 makes 184 horsepower and works with the five-speed automatic, giving you a smooth, willing partner for top-down cruising. Fuel economy is a bright spot here, with 21 mpg combined from the lighter engine.
