Miles Overview
The 2016 Avalon is Toyota's full-size sedan, a roomy four-door that competes with the likes of the Buick LaCrosse and Kia Cadenza. It's a smooth, quiet cruiser that soaks up highway miles with ease, though the suspension is on the firm side, so you'll feel sharper bumps. Inside, the cabin is a highlight, with soft-touch materials and available heated and cooled seats that make it feel more upscale than its price suggests. Toyota's reputation for dependability carries over here, and owners report few problems beyond the occasional airbag recall notice. Stepping up to the XLE Premium from the standard XLE adds leather-trimmed seats, a power rear sunshade, and a premium audio system, making the cabin feel more luxurious. Under the hood is a smooth 3.5L I6 making 268 horsepower, paired with a automatic transmission and front-wheel drive that delivers effortless highway passing and a quiet, relaxed ride.
