Miles Overview
The Outback is Subaru's midsize wagon-like SUV, a favorite for people who want car-like handling with plenty of cargo room. It drives more like a car than a tall SUV, with a low center of gravity and sharp steering that make it feel nimble on winding roads. The ride is composed and absorbent, though the cabin lets in a fair amount of road noise at highway speeds. Inside, you get a spacious cabin with generous legroom for rear passengers and a large cargo area that easily swallows gear for a weekend trip. Its 2.5L I4 makes 182 horsepower and pairs with a CVT and all-wheel drive, which delivers smooth, efficient power and 29 mpg combined. Standard heated outboard rear seats are a nice touch for passengers, and the Harman Kardon audio system fills the cabin with clear sound.
