Miles Overview
The Outback is Subaru's midsize wagon-like SUV, a favorite for people who want car-like handling with plenty of cargo room. It drives more like a car than a tall SUV, with a low center of gravity and sharp steering that make it feel nimble on winding roads. The ride is composed and absorbent, though the cabin lets in a fair amount of road noise at highway speeds. Inside, you get a spacious cabin with generous legroom for rear passengers and a large cargo area that easily swallows gear for a weekend trip. The 2.5i is the base Outback, so you get the same standard all-wheel drive and generous cargo space as the Premium and Limited trims, just without the extra equipment they add. Its 2.5L I4 and automatic transmission deliver 182 horsepower to the all-wheel drive, which is enough for easy highway cruising and light hauling, though it won't feel quick when fully loaded.
