Miles Overview
The Outback is Subaru's wagon-like SUV, blending car-like comfort with genuine off-road capability. Inside, the cabin is roomy and practical, with a tall seating position that makes getting in and out easy. Owners note that the AWD system can be harder on tires, so budget for more frequent replacements. Skipping the roof rails and fog lights of the Premium sets the base 2.5i apart as the pure value pick in the Outback range. The 2.5L I4 makes 173 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, and with the six-speed manual and all-wheel drive it feels eager around town while returning 24 mpg combined.
