Miles Overview
The Outback is Subaru's wagon-like SUV, a practical choice for people who want car-like handling with extra ground clearance. The cabin is roomy, with a large cargo area that expands when you fold the rear seats, and the higher ride height makes getting in and out easy. The 2.5i is the base Outback, so you get the same spacious cargo area and standard all-wheel drive as the Premium, but with cloth seats and a manual transmission. Its 2.5L I4 makes 170 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed manual, which feels eager around town but needs a downshift to pass on the highway; expect 22 mpg combined.
