Miles Overview
The 2008 Outback is Subaru's wagon-like SUV, a go-anywhere family hauler that competes with the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The cabin is practical and roomy, with a large cargo area that easily swallows camping gear or a week's worth of groceries. Owners report strong reliability, though some note that head gaskets and radiators can be trouble spots as the miles climb past 100,000. The Limited adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power moonroof over the base 2.5i. It's powered by the 2.5L I4, making 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, routed through a four-speed automatic to all-wheel drive. Expect the ride to feel composed on pavement, but this wagon is in its element on gravel or snow when you need the traction.
