Miles Overview
The 2008 Outback is Subaru's wagon-like SUV, a go-anywhere family hauler that competes with the likes of the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. The cabin is practical and roomy, with a large cargo area that easily swallows camping gear or a week's worth of groceries. Owners report strong reliability, though some note that head gaskets and radiators can be trouble spots as the miles climb past 100,000. The 2.5i is the base Outback, giving up the Limited's leather and power seat adjustments but keeping the same all-wheel-drive capability and cargo space. Its 2.5L I4 makes 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that delivers 22 mpg combined.
