Miles Overview
It grips the road confidently in bad weather, and the steering feels direct, though the base engine can feel a bit strained on steep hills. The cabin is comfortable and quiet, with a back seat that fits three adults and a trunk that swallows luggage for a road trip. Some owners mention the trunk release only works with the key, and the head gasket can wear out on higher-mileage examples. The 2.5i is the entry-level Legacy, perfect if you want Subaru's all-weather capability without paying for the 3.6R's extra power. The 2.5L I4 makes 170 horsepower and works with the automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive, returning 26 mpg combined.
