Miles Overview
The GLE-Class is Mercedes-Benz's mid-size luxury SUV, slotting between the GLC and the full-size GLS. It takes on the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Range Rover Sport in the premium three-row SUV segment. The GLE rides smoothly and quietly, with a composed demeanor that suits long highway trips. Handling is secure and predictable, though the high seating position means some body roll in corners. Inside, the cabin is plush and spacious, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly infotainment system. The GLE 63 AMG sits above the GLE 450 AMG and below the GLE 63 S AMG, trading some ultimate power for a slightly lower price. Its 5.5L V8 makes 550 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, routed through a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that gets 15 mpg combined. The AMG-tuned suspension and sport exhaust give it a sharper, more aggressive character than the standard GLE models.
