Miles Overview
The 2018 GLE-Class is Mercedes-Benz's midsize luxury SUV, offered in both traditional SUV and coupe-like body styles. It competes with the BMW X5, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90, bringing a blend of opulence and capability. The GLE feels composed and confident on the road, with a quiet cabin that isolates occupants from the outside world. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in rich materials and offers generous space for five, with a large cargo area behind the rear seats. Standard tech includes a 7-inch display with COMAND infotainment, and available features like a panoramic sunroof and premium audio. The GLE 43 AMG adds AMG-tuned air suspension, sport seats, and a more aggressive body kit over the GLE 350, while undercutting the V8-powered GLE 63 on price. Its 3.0L V6 makes 385 horsepower and routes through a nine-speed automatic to all-wheel drive, giving it a muscular, responsive feel that makes easy work of on-ramps and passing. The AMG Sport Suspension keeps the body flat through corners, but the ride is firm enough that you'll feel expansion joints on rough pavement.
