Miles Overview
It's genuinely fun to drive, with a responsive throttle and acceleration that feels quicker than the numbers suggest. The hatchback body gives you a surprising amount of cargo space, though the back seat is tight for passengers. Some owners have dealt with peeling paint, warped dashboards, and finicky electronics like the CD player and keyless entry. The GS is the sensible pick if you want the Eclipse look without the GT's thirst, though you give up the V6's punch. Its 2.4L I4 makes 162 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which is adequate for daily driving but won't thrill you. Expect 22 mpg combined from the four-cylinder, which is a step up from the GT's fuel bills.
