Miles Overview
The 2012 Eclipse is Mitsubishi's compact two-door, offered as a hatchback or a convertible. It handles nimbly and parks easily, though the ride is firm and the cabin gets noisy on the highway. Front seats are comfortable, but the back seat is very tight and interior materials feel cheap. Owners report door handles breaking, AC compressors failing, and dashes warping from sun exposure. The GS Sport is the one to pick if you want the Eclipse experience without the convertible's added cost and weight. Its 2.4L I4 makes 162 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which is adequate for around-town driving but feels strained on the highway. The hatchback body gives you 15.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and the GS Sport adds fog lights and a rear spoiler over the base GS.
