Miles Overview
The 2009 New Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, offered as a hatchback or a convertible. It's a cheerful little car to drive, with light steering and a ride that's comfortable around town. The cabin is a throwback with a big round speedometer and a bud vase, though rear seats are snug. The hatchback's rear seat folds flat for extra cargo room, but the convertible's trunk is tight. Every Beetle uses a 2.5L I5 making 150 horsepower, and this one pairs it with the six-speed automatic for smooth, easygoing shifts around town. With the top up, the convertible's trunk holds just 5.0 cubic feet of cargo space, so you'll pack light for weekend trips.
