Miles Overview
The 2010 New Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, sold as a hatchback or a soft-top convertible. It has a friendly, light feel around town, with a ride that's comfortable rather than sporty. The cabin is a cheerful place to sit, with a big round speedometer and a vase on the dash, though rear seats are snug. Insurance and parts cost more than for a comparable Honda or Toyota, and the resale value is modest. This is the convertible body style, which swaps the hatchback's practicality for open-air driving with a power soft top. The 2.5L I5 makes 150 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving it enough punch for merging but a relaxed, buzzy character on the highway.
