Miles Overview
The 2012 Jetta is Volkswagen's compact sedan and wagon, aimed at buyers who want a bit more German character than the typical Corolla or Civic. It's a comfortable, composed cruiser that feels stable at highway speeds, with a ride that's smooth enough for daily commutes. Inside, the cabin is roomy for the class, with a clean dash and available leather that gives it a more upscale feel than its price suggests. Some owners have dealt with electrical gremlins and pricey repairs, so it's worth budgeting for the occasional German-brand hiccup. The SEL is the luxury-minded Jetta, giving you leather seats and a sunroof that the SE doesn't have. Its 2.5L I5 makes 170 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, delivering smooth, eager acceleration that's a step up from the base car. Expect a composed ride that's a touch firmer than a Civic's, which is the trade-off for that planted German feel.
