Miles Overview
The 2014 Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, offered as a hatchback or convertible with a front-drive layout. It's genuinely fun to drive, with a smooth ride and enough pep to merge onto highways without flooring it. Inside, you get a chic cabin with nice leather details, plenty of headroom up front, and easy-to-clean surfaces. Some owners have had issues with the curved windows getting stuck and the window controls failing after water exposure. The 1.8L I4 pairs with a six-speed automatic to give you 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, good for 28 mpg combined and easy highway merging. The 1.8T rides on a sport-tuned suspension that firms things up a bit, so expect a tauter feel than the base car on twisty roads.
