Miles Overview
The 2014 Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, offered as a hatchback or convertible with a front-drive layout. It's genuinely fun to drive, with a smooth ride and enough pep to merge onto highways without flooring it. Inside, you get a chic cabin with nice leather details, plenty of headroom up front, and easy-to-clean surfaces. Some owners have had issues with the curved windows getting stuck and the window controls failing after water exposure. The Entry is the base Beetle, sitting below the TDI and R-Line trims, and it gives you the essential fun without the premium price. Its 1.8L I4 makes 170 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, which is enough to make daily driving feel lively without being frantic. You get 28 mpg combined from the base engine, and the hatchback body gives you 29.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.
