Miles Overview
The Golf SportWagen is Volkswagen's compact wagon, a practical alternative to the Golf hatchback with extra cargo space behind the rear seats. It drives with the same eager, planted feel as the Golf, making it more fun than most wagons in its size. The ride is composed and absorbs bumps well, though it's a bit firmer than a crossover like the Tiguan. Cargo space is generous for the class, and the rear seats fold nearly flat for bulky loads. The SE adds the 4Motion all-wheel drive you can't get on the front-drive SEL, plus a six-speed automatic and a power sunroof. Its turbocharged 1.8L TSI® 16-valve DOHC turbo 4-cylinder engine w/ direct fuel injection makes 170 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque, and the all-wheel drive gives you confident traction in rain or snow; expect 28 mpg combined.
