Miles Overview
The New Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, offered as a hatchback or a convertible for 2005. It's a cheerful little car to drive, with a light, eager feel that makes city errands more fun than they have any right to be. The cabin is quirky and bright, though rear seats are tight and the hatch's cargo space is modest. Reliability is a mixed bag, with some owners reporting electrical issues and others enjoying trouble-free miles. The GLS is the base New Beetle, so you get the 2.0L I4 and a manual transmission as standard.
