Miles Overview
The 2017 Jetta is Volkswagen's compact sedan, slotting between the Golf hatchback and the Passat in size and price. It competes with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Mazda3, offering a more European feel than most in this class. The Jetta feels composed and responsive on the road, with steering that inspires confidence in corners and on the highway. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and well-built, with a spacious trunk that owners praise for hauling gear. Stepping up to the SE from the base S adds convenience features like a touchscreen infotainment system and keyless entry, making daily driving more pleasant. The 1.4L I4 makes 150 horsepower and pairs with the six-speed manual, giving the Jetta a willing, efficient character around town and on the highway. The SE can be ordered with an automatic transmission, which is the more common choice for commuters who want an easier drive in traffic.
