Miles Overview
The 2019 Beetle is Volkswagen's retro-styled compact, offered as a coupe or convertible with a focus on personality over practicality. It's a fun little car to hustle around town, with eager acceleration and a light, tossable feel that makes every errand more entertaining. The cabin keeps the classic round theme with a big central speedometer, but rear seats are genuinely cramped and the convertible lets in plenty of road noise. Some owners have dealt with finicky window switches that can die if water gets in, and the convertible's ride can get choppy on rough pavement. The Beetle SE sits above the base S with a few more comforts, but doesn't get the Final Edition's special badges and trim. Its 2.0L I4 makes 174 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed manual, enough to make daily driving genuinely quick and grin-worthy. The convertible top folds in about ten seconds and can be lowered while moving up to 20 mph.
