Miles Overview
The 2017 Jetta is Volkswagen's compact sedan, slotting between the Golf hatchback and the Passat in size and price. It competes with the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Mazda3, offering a more European feel than most in this class. The Jetta feels composed and responsive on the road, with steering that inspires confidence in corners and on the highway. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and well-built, with a spacious trunk that owners praise for hauling gear. The S is the practical choice for budget-minded shoppers, skipping the SE's extra comforts for a lower starting price. Its 1.4L I4 produces 150 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, gets an estimated 32 mpg combined, and comes with a five-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic. This trim has manual climate control and a 5-inch screen instead of the SE's Climatronic dials and larger display.
