2024 Nissan Versa S

The 2024 Versa is Nissan's entry-level sedan, slotting below the Sentra and competing with the Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent. The Versa feels light and nimble around town, with steering that is easy to place and a ride that is composed for the class. The cabin is roomier than the subcompact label suggests, with comfortable front seats and a surprisingly usable back seat. Nissan's Safety Shield 360 is standard, bringing automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert to the base model. The S is the base Versa, and stepping up from the S with the manual transmission gets you the Xtronic CVT, which bumps highway fuel economy to 40 mpg highway. The 1.6L I4 makes 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque, which is enough for city driving, and the CVT keeps the engine in its sweet spot for efficiency at 35 mpg combined.
