2018 Nissan Versa S Plus

The Versa is Nissan's entry-level sedan, the car you cross-shop with the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris when every dollar counts. It's light and easy to maneuver, which makes city driving and parallel parking feel almost effortless. Inside, the Versa surprises with generous rear legroom and a trunk that swallows three large suitcases without complaint. Owners report few mechanical issues in the first years, though the ride can feel floaty on the highway in crosswinds. The S Plus gives up a few luxuries to keep the price down, but you still get the same 1.6L I4 and standard automatic as the pricier trims. Its 1.6L I4 makes 109 horsepower, which is enough to keep up in city traffic, and the automatic shifts smoothly without hunting for gears. You won't find power windows or cruise control on the S Plus, but you will get a spacious trunk and one of the lowest starting prices in the class.
