Miles Overview
The 2004 Sentra is Nissan's compact sedan, a straightforward commuter that competes with the Corolla and Civic. It's a light, nimble little car that's easy to hustle around town, though it can feel a bit unsteady at freeway speeds. Inside, the cabin is simple but functional, with a decent-sized trunk and enough room for two adults up front. Owners report the Sentra is generally reliable, but some have had issues with the starter, windows, and the check engine light. As the base trim, the Sentra keeps things simple: a 1.8L I4 with 126 horsepower, cloth seats, and a manual transmission standard; you give up the SE's sportier suspension and the GXE's power equipment. The 1.8L I4 makes 126 horsepower and pairs with the four-speed automatic in this example, enough to keep up with traffic but not eager to sprint. Nissan rated it at 27 mpg combined, which makes the Sentra an easy choice if you're watching your fuel budget.
