Miles Overview
The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is a subcompact crossover that blends hatchback agility with a raised ride height, slotting below the CX-5 in Mazda's SUV lineup. It squares off against the Honda HR-V, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Subaru Crosstrek, with a more premium feel than most rivals. The CX-30 handles with a sporty composure that's rare in this class, with crisp steering and a firm, controlled ride. Inside, the cabin is upscale for the segment, with quality materials and a clean design, though rear legroom is snug. Standard i-Activsense safety tech includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, and the infotainment system is controlled by a rotary dial. Under the hood is a 2.5L I4 making 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that gives it a confident launch and strong mid-range pull for merging and passing.
